"Great" Mass

From TheBestLinks.com

The "Great" Mass is truly nicknamed; it embodies all of the pomp and solemnity associated with the Salzburg traditions of the time, but it anticipates the symphonic masses of Haydn in its solo-choral sharing. Above all else, Mozart was at the time immersed in the music of Bach and Handel. In the "credo" listeners experience a kind of neo-baroque treat that is all rhythmically conceived.
