Fun With Headlines
It is a common humorous technique to take real headlines and find humor in them. For example, Jay_Leno is well known for having fun with headlines and news stories on The_Tonight_Show. He will take a typographical error in a headline and find the humorous alternate meaning this provides.
In a similar spirit, in 2002 the web site Fun With Headlines (http://www.funwithheadlines.net) began a daily routine of finding headlines with intentional or unintentional humor in them. While preserving the actual news headline just as it appeared on a news service, the site then pairs the headline with a humorous variation.
