Whoopi is a sitcom television series starring Whoopi Goldberg who plays Mavis Rae, a member of the one-time, one-hit band 'The Ebony Blackbirds'. The series revolves around the events and people at her hotel, Le Mont Hotel in New York City.
Cast and Characters
- Mavis Rae, an irritated one hit wonder, reduced to running a small and unsuccessful NYC hotel. Played by Whoopi Goldberg.
- Nasim, The Le Mont's Persian janitor with implied terrorist connections. Played by Omid Djalili
- Courtney Rae, Mavis' brother. He had a job at Enron, and now lives in a room in Mavis' hotel. He is the complete opposite to his sister in every way. Played by Wren T. Brown.
- Rita, Courtney's 'culturally confused' girlfriend. Mavis dislikes Rita, and disaproves of their relationship. Played by Elizabeth Regen.
