Whitehouse)
Whitehouse is an English noise band formed in 1980. They are known for their controversial lyrics and images (often misogynistic and extremely violent) and have been the subject of censorship in the past. Their name is in "tribute" to the British moral campaigner Mary Whitehouse. The group's founding member was William Bennett, who was soon joined by Philip Best and Kevin Tomkins. Tomkins was later replaced by Peter Sotos. In the early 1990s, renowned American producer Steve Albini began working with the band.
Many of their releases feature album artwork by controversial artist Trevor Brown.
