Wet work

From TheBestLinks.com

Wet work is an euphemism for murder or assassination by governmental agencies that came into use during the cold war.

The phrase "wet work" comes from the idea of wetting the earth with blood. Some sources attribute this neologism to the KGB, while others to the CIA and some to the Mossad.

Sometimes the term "wet boy" is given to an agent involved in such work.
