The
Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets (VTCC) is one of only two military organizations established as an integral part of a major
United States civilian
university. Cadets receive an intensive military and leadership educational experience similar to that available at the
United States Military Service Academies or
state-supported institutions such as
The Citadel or the
Virginia Military Institute.
Many members of the Cadet Corps are also participants in the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) and will become commissioned officers in the U.S. Military upon graduation.
