I am an old guy, with some knowledge of history, politics and art. My goals, upon joining Wikipedia, were to keep Wikipedia free from propaganda, and to ensure that Wikipedia is not afraid to cross swords with "conventional wisdom" when it is false. I must confess that I have been disappointed on both counts. Although there are many well-intentioned persons here, I have been forced to conclude that ultimately the system doesn't work: organized gangs of malicious editors can impose the most blatant and obvious propaganda, as was the case with article on Lyndon LaRouche, without arousing the indignation of the Wikipedia administrators and arbitrators. Since ultimately Wikipedia has no standard for truth, and seems more concerned with conforming to Popular Opinion as purveyed by the Anglo-American press, I would suggest, gentle reader, that you think twice about believing anything presented in Wikipedia's articles.

So, feel free to leave a note on my talk page, but I may not respond right away. In the meantime, turn up your speakers and enjoy my piano sonata.
