Tintin in Tibet (originally Tintin au Tibet) is one of a series of classic comic-strip albums, written and illustrated by Belgian writer and illustrator Hergé, featuring young reporter Tintin as a hero.
Tintin in Tibet is the twentieth in the series. It is said to have been Hergé's favorite out of the Tintin series and was written during a personally difficult time in his life.
The storyline
Tintin and the Captain go to a mountain hotel to go climbing for a holiday.
Tintin receives a letter from his young chinese friend Chang Chong Chen. Chang says he is going via Katmandu to London, to see Tintin. but when Tintin reads the daily paper, he finds that Chang's plane crashed in Tibet. Tintin and the captain go searching for Chang and the lost plane, with the captain often getting drunk, or refusing to go on, and then going on. They find the wecked plane, and Chang's teddy bear, proving he was there. They see a scarf on the mountainside and climb after it, their guide saving them from falling of a cliff and in a storm. They follow the mountain trail till they reach a monastery, hoping for shelter after falling through an avalanche. They then find Chang in a cave, where the yeti had brought him and thereby rescued him.
