The Tau'ri or "People of the Tau'ri" refer to humans from Earth. As a vital premise to the show, there are humans on many other planets. Humans were moved to these other planets by the Goa'uld. Tau'ri specificly refers to Earth humans, especially in the sense that human life began on Earth.
