Khrushchev Secret Speech

From TheBestLinks.com

(Redirected from Secret Speech)

The Secret Speech is the common name of a speech given on February 24, 1956 by Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev denouncing the actions of Josef Stalin. It was the first major break by Soviet leadership from Stalin's long domination.

It was known as the Secret Speech because it was delivered at the closed session of the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and was not known to the majority of the population of the Soviet Union until it was disclosed in 1988.
