• Gambela
• Harar
• Oromia
• Somali
• Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples Region
• Tigray

Additionally, there are two chartered cities (astedader akababiwach, singular - astedader akabibi):

• Addis Ababa
• Dire Dawa
