In the Star Trek fictional universe, Rachel Garrett was captain of the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-C), an Ambassador class starship. Captain Garrett is the only woman so far to be seen on television or the movies to be in command of a Starship Enterprise. If there were any others, they have not been revealed.
She was killed in 2344 while the Enterprise-C was defending the Klingon outpost on Narendra III from Romulan attack. The heroic sacrifice of Captain Garrett and her crew strengthened relations between the Federation and the Klingon Empire.
In an alternate timeline, the Enterprise-C entered a temporal rift during the Narendra III battle and emerged 22 years into the future, in 2366. In this timeline, her ship failed to render assistance, and relations between the Federation and the Klingons deteriorated into full-scale war. Captain Garrett was killed here in a Klingon attack. Her helm officer, Lt. Richard Castillo assumed command and re-entered the rift to render assistance to Narendra III and restore the timeline.
Captain Rachel Garrett was played by Tricia O'Neil.
