Paweł Włodkowic, Paulus Wladimiri (1370-1435) was a distinguished scholar, lawyer and the rector of the University of Cracow.
He was a representative of Poland at the Council of Constance (1414) where he defended the Polish raison d'etat against a campaign launched by the Teutonic Knights. He, as early as the beginning of the 15th century, pioneered ideas of the modern theory of human rights and world guided by the principles of peace and mutual respect of the nations.
