Pallet Town (Masera Town in Japan) is the fictional starting town for the first four Pokemon games (Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, and the remakes Fire Red and Leaf Green) and the anime.
Pallet is home to Professor Oak, who gives the player his or her starting Pokemon. (Note: the name Pallet town is like an artist's pallet and all other towns are colors) The town is also the hometown of Ash Ketchum and Gary Oak (and his sister Daisy Oak, who will give the player a town map).
