Oldham is a metropolitan borough in Greater Manchester, England. It is named for its largest settlement, Oldham, but covers a larger area. Other places include Shaw, Royton, Chadderton and Failsworth.

To the east it covers part of Saddleworth Moor.

The current borough was formed on April 1, 1974 by the merger of the county borough of Oldham along with Chadderton, Crompton, Failsworth, Lees and Royton urban districts in Lancashire Saddleworth urban district in the West Riding of Yorkshire.
