National Taiwan University (NTU, 國立臺灣大學, Hanyu Pinyin: Guólì táiwān dàxúe, Wade-Giles: Kuo-li t'ai-wan ta-hsüeh) is a university in Taiwan. The entrance examination score needed to enter NTU is typically the highest among universities in Taiwan, and using this ranking, it is widely considered the best university in Taiwan.

History
The university was founded as the Taihoku Imperial University (臺北帝國大學) of the Japanese Empire in 1928. Following Taiwan's handover to the Republic of China in 1945, it was renamed the National Taiwan University and reorganized into six colleges and twenty-two departments. It has since expanded to 11 colleges, 52 departments, 82 graduate institutes and the Division of Continuing Education and Professional Development.
Campus
The university has six campuses in the greater Taipei region (including Taipei County) and two additional campuses in Nantou County.
