Manhwa are Korean comic books. The term is transliterated from the Japanese word "manga", and manhwa are often confused with the latter in North America due to the marketing policies of the various licensing companies. The term is often spelled "manwha", but it is not a standard romanization of Korean, and is likely a misspelling.
