List of individuals by their reported SAT college entrance test score. Because ETS, the publisher and scorer of the SAT does not make test results public, many of these scores are unverified. The SAT is scored on a scale between 400 and 1600, with 1600 being the highest possible score. Average scores fluctuate from year to year, but usually lie in the 900 to 1000 range. Prior to September 1993 the scores were fairly comparable across years. Mensa International accepts scores prior to September 1997 of 1300 or higher, and scores prior to September 1993 of 1250 or higher. However, the test was drastically changed in September 1993, and the scores were recentered in 1996, raising the average score from 900 to 1000.
