A popular tourist attraction in Lake Havasu City is London Bridge which crosses over the Colorado River. It was purchased from the city of London when the bridge was being replaced in 1968 for 2.5 million dollars. The bridge was disassembled, the stones marked, shipped to Lake Havasu City, and reassembled for another 7 million dollars. It opened again in October 1971.
