There are two John Hammonds of note. They are father and son.
John Hammond (December 15, 1910 - July 10, 1987) was a record producer, musician and music critic from the 1930s to the 1970s. He was responsible for discovering and developing artists such as Benny Goodman, Meade Lux Lewis, Count Basie, Lionel Hampton, Billie Holiday, Pete Seeger, Babatunde Olatunji, Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin, and Bruce Springsteen.
John Hammond (born November 13, 1942) is a blues singer and guitarist. He has won one Grammy Award and was nominated for four others. Since 1962, Hammond has made 29 albums.
