Jackson Heights)
Jackson Heights is a neighborhood in northern Queens, New York. The area currently has a large immigrant population, notably from India and Bangladesh, and a large Hispanic community. "Little India" is located around the intersection of Roosevelt Avenue and Broadway (not the famous Broadway of Manhattan), which is also where the #7 Flushing subway meets the Queens Boulevard Line (the 'E', 'F', 'V', 'G', and 'R' trains). Much of the neighborhood is a designated Historical District, comprising large Garden Apartment buildings. It was a planned development of the Queensboro Corporation laid out in the 1920's following the arrival of the Flushing elevated train.
