Harbhajan Singh

Harbhajan Singh (born: July 3, 1980) is a cricketer (right arm off break bowler) from India. He was born at Jalandhar in Punjab. He made his Test debut against Australia at Bangalore in 1997 and his ODI debut against New Zealand at Sharjah also in the same year.

As of April 15, 2004, Harbhajan Singh has played 36 Tests with a batting average of just 13.50 and a bowling average of 28.47. In ODIs his batting average is 10.75 and his bowling average is 28.75. During March 2001 against the Australians, Harbhajan took 32 wickets in three Tests. He also participated in the 2003 cricket World Cup.

He is nicknamed The Turbanator, based on his bowling skill and the fact that, as a Sikh, he wears a turban whenever he plays.Harbhajan, or bahajji, as he is more popularly called underwent a major finger surgery early in the year 2004.
