The GLOCK 20 is a pistol manufactured by GLOCK. It is a large frame GLOCK much bigger then the GLOCK 17 and fires the 10 mm Norma ammunition.
Because of the fact that full power 10mm Norma ammunition is powerful, this pistol is rarely used for sports or law enforcement. Thus the GLOCK 20 is mainly being used as a self defense pistol to fend of large dangerous animals, like bears, mountain lions or similar dangerous animals. It has a 15 rounds magazine capacity.
It operates and holds the same components as a Glock 17 but all parts have been adapted to the 10mm Norma ammunition.
The Glock 20 is also suited for hunting deer sized animals, due to the power, flat trajectory and range of the 10 mm Norma ammunition.
Because of its large frame size, its grip is too large for many people and only suited for those with large hands.
The GLOCK 20 has undergone 3 major revisions since its introduction and current models are called 3rd generation GLOCK 20s.
The difference between the GLOCK 20 and the GLOCK 20C is that the barrel and slide are ported on the C model to reduce muzzle climb while shooting the pistol.
Like most GLOCK guns, the name is often referred to as a "Glock" and not as "GLOCK." According to GLOCK—the company that manufactures the gun—this is incorrect. GLOCK refers to all its guns with all uppercase letters.
