Epic is a tabletop wargame set in the Warhammer 40K universe but using 6mm rather than 28mm figures which allows. This game is one of the specialist games produced by the Fanatic Games Studio, a division of Games Workshop
Current (4th) Edition
The current 4th Edition of the game is often referred to as Epic: Armageddon as this is the name of the first (and so far only) rulebook that has been released for this edition. This rulebook focuses mainly on Imperial and Ork forces. The next planned book will focus on Eldar
Jervis Johnson in his designed notes states that his long term (and, it has to be said, rather grandiose) plans for Epic are to create a ‘family’ of games that use a common set of Epic miniatures. Each would be separate games using the same miniatures. The planned games in the family are:
- Epic: Grand Tactical Combat in the 41st Millennia.
- Adeptus Titanicus: Titan vs Titan battles.
- Air War: Squadron level aerial combat in the 41st Millenia.

These editions were all produced by Games Workshop before the existence of the Fanatic Games Studio. Models for Epic have also been produced by the Forge World division of Games Workshop.
