Cybertron is the Japanese term for the Autobots; in Japan, the planet from which they originate is referred to as Seibertron
In the popular cartoon series "Transformers", including its various reincarnations throughout the 1980s and 1990s (and now into the 21st Century) in Japan and America, Cybertron is the homeworld of the Autobots, primary protagonists of the series, and Decepticons, primary antagonists.
In the comic book storyline (Marvel and more recently Dreamwave) Cybertron was formed by the essence of the benevolent or positive deity "Primus" as a opposite force to the Chaos-Bringer Unicron. The Quintessons, malevolent beings with five faces, have claimed Cybertron as their property on multiple occasions, even claiming the Tranformers as their own; The validity of these claims is in serious question.
Cybertron was destroyed in the Japanese series Transformers: Headmasters episode 8, after the Predacons plant bombs in Vector Sigma’s chamber in a “Scorched Cybertron” attack.
Outside the Japanese storylines, Cybertron was never destroyed, but it was heavily decimated by Unicron when he appeared in orbit.
The capital of Cybertron is the Iacon Hub City and serves as the base of operations for the Autobots. Other cities are Kaon (the Decepticon capital), Perihex, Antihex, and Uraya.
Cybertron has two moons, names unknown, that in the later days of the great war served as bases for the Autobots during the planetwide Decepticon occupation. These moons were consumed by Unicron in the Earth Year 2005. The destruction of Unicron at the hands of Rodimus Prime weilding the Autobot Matrix of Leadership gave Cybertron a new satellite: Unicron's head.
Cybertron itself is the size of Saturn by some sources, though by other sources it is a planetoid smaller than Earth. It has a labyrinthine series of tunnels and caverns inside. Cybertronian gravity is roughly the same as Earth. The moons orbiting the planet however are much denser, lending to a gravity equal to that of Cybertron.
