Bubble Act

From TheBestLinks.com

The Bubble Act of 1720 was an English act that forbade all joint-stock companies not authorised by royal charter.

It was passed to prevent another South Sea Bubble. The Act was a sign of greater caution after the Bubble, and sought to restore security to commercial expansion and economic innovation.
