Dr. Farwell invented brain fingerprinting. P300 is an EEG peak signifying recognition (well documented in peer-reviewed literature). He uses targets (recognizable things), irrelevants (unrecognizable things) and probes (things only a criminal would know). He uses a control group to show how P300 identifies recognized objects. Jimmy Ray Slaughter was convicted of the murder of his lover and his baby. A few months before the execution, he was subject to brain fingerprinting that showed he had never seen the crime scene. As of May 2004, stay of execution has not been granted and the date of execution is to be set soon.
