Billy Davis

From TheBestLinks.com

Roquel Billy Davis (July 11 1932 - September 2 2004) was producer of the song "I'd like to teach the world to sing", from the 1971 Coca-Cola TV advertisement. He also wrote and produced other jingles such as It's the Real Thing and Things Go Better With Coke for Coca-Cola, and If You've Got the Time for Miller Beer.

Billy was also a singer, having performed with an early version of the Four Tops, and a songwriter for Motown Records in the 1960s. Perhaps his most notable Motown hit was "Lonely Teardrops", recorded by Jackie Wilson, which Davis co-wrote with Berry Gordy and Gordy's sister, Gwen, who was Davis's girlfriend at the time.
