Beatriz Alas is a Communist politician in Manitoba, Canada.
Alas is a sociology and psychology student at the University of Manitoba. In the 2004 federal election, Alas ran for the Communist Party of Canada in the west Winnipeg riding of Charleswood-St. James (she had joined the party shortly before the election). Her campaign focused on improved programs for recent Canadian immigrants.
Alas received 49 votes, placing sixth in a field of six candidates. It may be noted that she was only twenty-three years old at the time of the election.
