Geography
The district includes all of the Avalon Peninsula, except for Bell Island, and the St. John's area. Communities include Conception Bay South (part), Bay Roberts, Carbonear, Placentia, Harbour Grace, Spaniard's Bay, Holyrood, and Upper Island Cove The area is 9,335 sq. km.
History
The electoral district was created in 2004 from 57.6% of Bonavista—Trinity—Conception, 21.9% of St. John's West 20.5% of St. John's East. The riding has yet to experience its first election. The incumbent will be John Efford of the Liberal Party of Canada.
