Asheridge is a small hamlet in the parish of Chesham, in Buckinghamshire, England. It is situated in the beautiful Chiltern Hills, about two and a half miles north west of Chesham. Other close towns include Great Missenden, Wendover, and Berkhamsted.
The village name is Anglo Saxon and means, literally, Ash Ridge, referring to the situation of the village on the ridge of a hill. In the Saxon period this whole area was completely forested, thus the 'ash' part of the village name.
It should not be confused with Ashridge, which is a college and estate (including several commons), about 5 miles north-east, the other side of Berkhamsted.
