Buraq

From TheBestLinks.com

(Redirected from Al-Buraq)

Buraq, mistakenly described as Mohammed's horse, was a creature described as being part griffin, eagle and horse. According to Islamic tradition it carried Mohammed from earth to heaven and back during the Isra (Night Journey).

Excerpt from a Sahih Muslim hadith describing a buraq: I was brought al-buraq who is an animal white and long, larger than a donkey but smaller than a mule, who would place its hoof at a distance equal to the range of vision.

The Western Wall in Jerusalem is also known as the Al-Buraq Wall - Al-Buraq Wall

A Libyan airline company is named after the Buraq - BuraqAir (http://www.buraqair.com/)
