Ajam is the arabic pronunciation of Jam. Jam is short for Jamshid, who was a great king of pre-history Iran.
It is said he invented home building, shoemaking, and other basic, important things.
For 4000 years, Iran territory was called Jam. Then Arabs changed it to Ajam and giving the meaning of Iranian people. Later it became synonymous with fire worshiper. Later, the word jam came to mean non-Arabs and the people who do not understand Arabic, or people who can’t speak well.
2500 years ago Iran was known as Persia. Pers or pars were a group of Arians who were very famous for horse riding and horse breeding. Every Persian had at least some horses this helped them to conquer all Middle east and part of Europe. Arabs called them Fars. The word Fars became synonymous for brave horses or brave horse riding. In the Persian plateau they were famous as pars and Pers. Their job was cattle raising so, cows and horses were holy to them. Some became worshipers of horses and cows.
