Affirmative action bake sale

From TheBestLinks.com

An affirmative action bake sale is a way of drawing attention to the affirmative action issue, especially as it relates to college admissions.

Students sell cookies or cakes to various classes of buyers, typically charging the most for white males. Prices get cheaper for women or minorities.

Organizers, almost always student conservatives, hope to spark dialogue based on how passers-by respond. "If it feels demeaning to be charged less because you're female, Hispanic, black, etc., consider how the admissions process makes you feel."
