In the case of Adkins v. Children's Hospital, 261 U.S. 525 (1923), properly Adkins et al., Minimum Wage Board of District of Columbia v. Children's Hospital of the District of Columbia, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled minimum wage legislation an unconstitutional infringement of liberty of contract (April 9, 1923).
