Accuracy International Arctic Warfare

The Accuracy International Arctic Warfare rifle is a bolt-action sniper rifle designed by the British company Accuracy International. Its distinctive green rifles with unique designs are gaining popularity due to its reliability in adverse weather conditions, such as arctic climate to which the rifle bears its name sake. The barrel is designed to hit a target with a first shot with a clean or foul barrel, and its range is within 600m with its Schmidt & Bender 6 x 24 scope. The rifle uses an aluminum frame clad in high impact plastic stock. The rifle is equipped with a bipod and monopod in the butt.

The Arctic Warfare rifle uses 7.62 NATO rounds, but can also be fitted for the 5.56 rounds. It is mounted with a standard scope and a muzzle brake to cut down on recoil. Currently it is in service with many countries, including the United Kingdom, Australia, and Singapore. The British designation for this rifle is the L96A1.

It is said that the rifle is designed to kill a polar bear in one shot.
